off the dieting bandwagon, it seems.

I can officially say I am not losing weight. I am, in fact, eating whatever I want. And officially, it is making me delightfully happy.

Usually there's a layer of guilt associated with the indulgent eating that follows a particularly strict diet, but not this time. I feel in control even though I might eat a hamburger, because I feel confident I'll only eat it if that's what I really want at that moment. Some days I just wake up and my body screams: give me red meat, now now now. So I do. Some days I might eat three bananas. And some days I could eat my weight in chocolate.

I have been working on portion control however, and I think it really does help. I've also been riding my bicycle a few times a week and plan to go back to running soon (I MUST quit smoking, I must...).

Overall I am feeling most content, even though I had to loosen my belt buckle back to its normal spot--an indication that I've probably gained back the ten pounds that I lost. I can't be sure because I won't go near the the scale. Not yet.

Been there so, so many times. The guiltless, screw-it, I'm gonna enjoy the food for once feeling. LUCKILY it doesn't last forever. I guess that's the universe staying in balance for the diet not lasting forever either.

p.s. My captcha word below is "magons". That should be the name of a cookie or something.

The basics are still true. I dont like to work out, I do construction in the day & that is enough for me. So I will leave the workout out of this list. Besides eating smaller portions of the deserts, I eat more vegetables & a lot of fruit.
What I am getting to is I have lost weight doing the basics, I eat a little healthier but not much. I found if I go overboard & cut too many things out I will end up giving up & binging or once I lose weight & get off the diet I catch up for lost time if you know what I mean.
I went from 245 lbs. to 210 lbs. on about 5 weeks & I have kept it off for the first time since I started gaining weight 18 years ago.
I have learned to gorge on vegetables when eating lunch & dinner & then eat the good stuff. Other than that, I learned that if you are lacking vitamins & minerals, even just a few, your mind will crave something & we think it is too eat more & if what we eat does not have what we are lacking it does not fill the hole. Learning that is what took the weight off & is keeping it off. I was putting together 72 hour kits for a church project & there were these pills called Lifecaps They have all the vitamins & minerals even iodine in them. They are for survival not weight loss. But after I learned about lacking vitamins or minerals creates cravings we try to fill & that 95% of over the counter vitamins do not get digested & end up in the sewers. I researched different vitamins & companies. Anyway, while doing these 72 hour kits I learned about Lifecaps & I ordered 25 bottles for my personal 72 hour kits I built but also to try as my weight loss supplement. They are all natural, digest & get in your system within 20 minutes, even has a bit of natural sugar in them to keep your blood sugar levels stable. So I started taking 3 a day, one in the morning, one at lunch & one before dinner. I still eat candy bars, ice cream etc. I try to take smaller portions though. I drink a lot of water & eat a bunch of vegetebles at the beginning of lunch & dinner. It has been awesome, I dont have cravings at bed time, I am not looking in cupboards & the fridge for something, 10 minutes after dinner anymore. At the rate I am going, I might fit in a 32 waist again by Christmas. After I bought those 25 bottles, I got a coupon code & bought 75 more bottles, you can find them at lifecaps.net & use coupon code "healthcaps" to get 33% off.
This may not be for everyone, but it has worked for me. I do not drink energy drinks anymore, I wake up with energy. I could lose weight faster if I cut more things out of what I eat, but I figure I am losing weight consistently & I do not want to blow a good thing. I like to eat & I hate to work out.
